Hot on the heels of the early release of the Xbox Series X controller (and the apparent confirmation of Xbox Lockhart AKA Xbox Series S), we have seen reports on when the next gen console could release.
However, the leak of the Xbox Series X controller did more than confirm the existence of Xbox Lockhart, it also gives a very interesting hint about when Microsoft could launch the console. This comes to us thanks to the warranty expiration date. The warranty on the leaked controller states that it expires on November 5th, 2021 and Microsoft typically provide a one-year warranty policy, which suggests that the Xbox Series X and S will both have a release date of November 5th, 2020.
Alongside this, though, we also have an unboxing which has surfaced on Youtube thanks to the Youtuber Don’tSueMePlease.
The unboxing is definitely worth a watch, as it pretty much confirms that the leaked controller we saw is in fact legitimate. Sadly, no other details about the console can be gleaned from the video, but it’s still nice to see an in-depth look at the controller. Hopefully we will see the Xbox Series S unveiled by Microsoft this month at their expected August games showcase.
