Black Mesa – the Half-Life Remake Released September 14th

Finally! If you have been eagerly awaiting the Half-Life Remake Black Mesa, the release is nigh!

Gordon Freeman’s epic journey through Black Mesa will finally see a release on September the 14th, this year!

Release date for Half-Life Remake confirmed for September, 2012!

Despite the fact many had given up hope of the Half-Life mod being released, it seems like it’s true – the team behind the remake however does give us one small piece of ‘bad’ news, players will only be able to play up until the Lambda Core.

“We believe this is a great way to provide a complete-feeling 8-10 hour experience with a solid ending, make our fans happy and help us make the best overall game possible,” project leader Carlos Montero said in this forum post

Originally, Black Mesa was going to see a 2009 release, but there were delays… and now here we are in 2012. While many fans were about to give up on it, some of us (including myself might I add) kept our faith.

“We are still working hard on Xen and BMDM, but instead of making you wait we are giving you Black Mesa as soon as it’s ready,” Montero added. “We’re doing our best to help bring the immense vision of this project into reality, and we are very excited for what the future brings!”

Many fans of the original will admit that if Half-Life had one weakness, it was the Xen section of the game… but still, no doubt fans will be clambering to see what the team do with the re-imagined and lovingly re-created Xen of Black Mesa.

Stay tuned folks, for I can assure you I will be releasing a LOT of videos on Half-Life Black Mesa. It is one of the PC games that I have some of the absolute fondest memories of!
