Guild Wars 2 has knocked Sleeping Dogs from the top spot, becoming the first MMO to top the UK All format chart since 2010.
The last time an MMO rose to the top of the UK charts like this, it was in December 2010 when Blizzard released the expansion for World of Warcraft, Cataclysm. That, combined with the fact that Square Enix’s very popular sandbox game, Sleeping Dogs, was reigning champion, Guild Wars 2 has accomplished quite a feat.
I’m very happy to see GW2 doing so well, it is a game that I myself have purchased (my first real MMO, too) and am loving so far. It’s nice to see ArenaNet’s hard work and interesting ideas actually paying off, and long may this game last.
The rest of the chart, though, was pretty much unchanged, with the only changes (aside from Sleeping Dogs falling to number two) are Darksiders 2 falling from second place to sixth, and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron falling down to eighth place.
