Phantasy Star Online 2 Western Release Date

The action based PSO 2 is finally on it’s way to the west.

All of you out there that have been waiting to play Phantasy Star Online 2 will be pleased to hear that Sega has confirmed an “early 2013” western release date. No specific dates are out for the US and EU yet, but it’s nice to have a rough idea of when it will be out.

You may have seen the video that I did on the game, but for those of you who have yet to even a peek of the game, I suggest you take a look below. If you are a veteran of PSO, you will notice that a lot of the series’ staples still remain in the game, despite the fact that a lot has changed in the land of MMOs over the last few years. For those new to the series, you can expect randomised dungeons, combo based combat (in an MMO? Surely not?!) and of course, a heavy sci fi theme over everything.

Sega have also released an official trailer

If you want a slightly more slick, shiny look at the game, Sega has officially posted a trailer for the western release of the game. This game seemed to me to be more of an action RPG with a lobby rather than a true MMO, but I think that may be part of the charm of some people. You can still do quests and all that good stuff with your friends, so it seems to have the good part of MMOs down right there. I , of course, will be taking a look at the game again with SpoonyKipper, and a proper look at the game when it is finally released in English.
