Sony has made a lot of Western gamers green with envy, by announcing a line-up of Metal Gear Solid 5 gadgets for Japan.
These items range from smartphones, tablets and the swankiest one of them all – a £729 walkman.
The ZX series NW-ZX2 is now available on Sony’s Japanese store for y140K, which roughly works out at £729, or a staggering $1145. So, what does this device actually come with?
Aside from having the Outer Heaven logo branding engraved on it, it comes with £128 GB of space, and more Outer Heaven branding on it’s leather case. It also has a few little extras, such as 10 songs from MGS 5, the classic exclamation point sound effect and four wallpapers.
The price for this thing is pretty steep, but surprisingly, it’s not really down to all the Metal Gear Branding. The NW-ZX2 usually goes for this price anyway, even without all these extra shinies.
There are some more affordable options, though. Sony also announced an MGS 5 branded NW-A16 walkman that costs roughly £146.
As I mentioned earlier, there’s also some Xperia tablets getting the Metal Gear treatment. The Z3, which goes for about £310, and the slightly nore Z4 (roughly £437) are included.
These come with an MGS branded case, digital art book, a couple of MGS 5 songs, a pre-installed MGS 5 wallpaper and a coupon for MGS novels.
Most of these will be available from September 2, aside from the NW-ZX2, which isn’t expected until the end of September.
