I hope you haven’t had your fill of The Witcher yet, because CD Projekt RED have announced a pen and paper RPG.
That doesn’t mean they’re working on it alone, though. This iteration of The Witcher will be a collab between CD Projekt and their friends R Talsorian Games, the guys behind the pen and paper RPG Cyberpunk 2020.
You should also recall that CD Projekt are making a game out of Cyberpunk 2020 in a collab with it’s creator Mike Pondsmith.
Naturally, the pen and paper edition will have a bit more freedom in terms of character creation, as you can create a new character rather than customising a set character like in the games.
CD Projekt had this to say, “The Witcher Role-Playing Game will allow tabletop RPG fans to re-create an array of characters known from the Witcher universe and live out entirely new adventures set within the world of Geralt of Rivia”.
I’m sure some of the pen and paper fans out there are asking “but what’s the ruleset?” Apparently, it will use Cyberpunk 2020’s Fuzion ruleset, except of course it will be adapted to a more medieval setting.
“The system will provide all the necessary tools to create and play out your own adventures and become everything from a battle-hardened monster slayer to a merchant kingpin controlling a vast network of contacts.”
The pen and paper RPG is slated for a 2016 release.
