Yager Productions Files For Insolvency After Losing Dead Island 2

DI2

Yager Productions, which was a smaller single purpose company that is part of the larger firm, Yager Development, has filed for insolvency.

Yager have said that is down entirely to having been pulled from the development of Dead Island 2.

Timo Ullmann, managing director, had this to say,  “As a single-purpose company, Yager Productions GmbH was assigned to the development of the Deep Silver title, Dead Island 2. The insolvency filing is a direct result from the early termination of the project and helps protect our staff. In the course of the proceedings, we gain time to sort out the best options for reorganizing this entity.”

Essentially, this allows the larger firm Yager Development to contain the damage to just Yager Productions, while also protecting their employees and contuinuing to pay them. This will hopefully mean that the damage will be kept to a minimum and won’t have a knock on effect for their other project, Dreadnought.

At the moment, there has been no word from Deep Silver as to who will be taking over development, or what effect this will have on development of Dead Island 2, or even if it will have to be delayed.
