Linkedin has given the game away for many projects which are being developed in secret, and now it appears Ubisoft Shanghai’s involvement with Far Cry 4 has been revealed by an online resume on the popular business social website.
Details are pretty thin on the ground, but, Ubisoft Shanghai’s studio design manager Xavier Plagnal claims to have been serving as “content director on the next Far Cry” (which would imply either Far Cry 4, or another odd-ball spinoff like Blood Dragon) since September 2013
Xavier Plagnal has worked on various Ubisoft projects before, including serving as content director on Splinter Cell: Blacklist’s Hunter co-op mode.
Far Cry 4 hasn’t been announced formally, but in July, 2013, Ubisoft’s Senior VP Market and Sales, Tony Key said about Far Cry “It’s a great brand and now it’s got the recognition it deserves, so we’re clearly going to make another one: more on that soon.”
It’s possible that we’ll be hearing more about this in June, when 2014’s E3 show kicks off. Until then, watch this space.
