Microsoft’s Phil Spencer has confirmed that the PC version of the eagerly anticipated Gears of War Ultimate Edition will indeed release later than the Xbox One.
Despite a slew of leaks hinting its existence (including beta footage) Microsoft first announced the title during the Xbox E3 conference this year and then during the PC gaming show confirmed gamers would get to enjoy a Windows port of the game.
The Coalition, the development team behind Gears of War Ultimate Edition aren’t as large as many triple A studios, likely explaining why they are focused on a single version at a time. While the news will surely disappoint PC gamers (including myself, even though I’ll buy the Xbox One version to play with friends anyway) I’m sure we can all agree it’s better to delay a game than to release it in a buggy mess (such as Arkham Knight).
The Ultimate Edition will come with almost 20 maps, improved graphics and a bunch of other content, including additional campaign which had been previously PC exclusive.
